In our kindergarten we have been learning about SYMMETRY. We know that an object has symmetry if two sides match when or if the object can be folded in half.
We have focused on line symmetry. We look to see if the object or design has horizontal, vertical, diagonal or no line of symmetry. Along the way we made these videos to show and share our learning.

Can you see the line of symmetry in our work?

Using pattern blocks and power blocks we built symmetrical designs with a partner. Each partner added one block at a time to create our designs.

As we worked with our partners, Mrs. Blakely took our picture. She made the pictures symmetrical too. These are fun, take a look:
We drew pictures with a black marker pen. Mrs. Blakely used the copy machine to make mirror images of our pictures. Then we colored them with colored pencils. We used a lot of details in our drawings:


Another day we watched a video about Line Symmetry. The man in the movie challenged us to use our hands to create symmetrical designs. All of these photos were taken by kids in our class:
